History
of Bangladesh : - The history of Bangladesh begins with the Hindu
epic in 9th century BC of followed by the Alexander the great 325 BC. In 6th
century AD Sasanaka founded the Gauda in Bengal. In 8th century AD Hinduism
ruled over Buddishm over the next couple of years. The pala dynasty in 9th
century was over ruled by Hindu Senas from south India and replace the Palas
King as rules as Bengal. In 1199 Bakhtiar capture Bengal and brought the
Muslim power that already held sway over most of north India. Then the
European period starts from Portuguese in 1536, then the Dutch in 1615
followed by British 1651 and the French 1674. After the independence of
India and Pakistan in 1947 the conflict between Hindus and Muslim. The
Britishers decide to partition the sub continent, East Pakistan to Muslim
League and the State of Bengal (West Bengal), Indian National Congress.
Government & Politics :- The peoples of Bangladesh
are under the Multi party parliamentary democracy in which the elections are
held through secret ballot paper. The head of the State is President and the
Presidents elected for five years by the parliamentarians and hold office
not more than two terms and the President appoints the Prime Minister of the
country. The Prime Minister enjoys the real executive power of the country.
Foreign Exchange / Currency :- The national money of
Bangladesh is taka and generally people pronounced 'Tahka". The taka is
further divided into 100 paisa and the denominations of taka in
1,2,5,10,20,50,500 in notes. There are 10,20 and 50 in paisa and 1,2 and 5
in coins.
Population of Bangladesh :- Bangladesh considered as one
of the most populated countries of the world, comprising the population of
around 130 million. Compare to India and China, Bangladesh population is
three times more populated than India and seven times more populated than
China. The population is increasing rapidly @ 2million people every year.
Religion of Bangladesh :- Bangladesh is a Muslim country
and majorities of the peoples are Muslims. After Indonesia Pakistan and
India, Bangladesh have a larger Muslim Population. The country origins with
Hinduism with the one third of the population are Hindu a century ago. But
now only 10% of the peoples are Hindus and some are Buddhist and Christians.
Language
:- The National and the official language of Bangladesh is Bangla.
English is the language for tourist and this language is used by some of the
tourist destination in Bangladesh.
Visa :- Visa is required for all nationals of all
countries except Japan and South Korea, they can stay in Bangladesh for 90
days without any visa and same for Sri Lankan, they can stay 30 days without
any visa. Once you enter Bangladesh your passport should be valid for
minimum six months beyond the duration of your stay.
Time :- Bangladesh is 6 hrs ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
One hour behind Thailand, 15 minutes ahead of Nepal, half an hour ahead of
India, 10 hours ahead of NewYork. 5 hrs ahead of France and 4 hrs behind
Australia.
Climate :- There are three main seasons in Bangladesh,
the monsoon season is from May to October, the winters are from October to
February and the summers are from March to May. The temperature is low of 21
degree in winters and maximum to 35 degree in summers. Cyclone is for two
times in a year - May to June and October to November.
Cities of Bangladesh :- Bangladesh is famous for Tribal
Tourism and some of the Travel places in Bangladesh are - Dhaka the Capital
of Bangladesh , Khulna , Barisal , Rajshahi , Chittagong , Rangamati , Cox's
Bazar and the Sylhet division.
Restrictions :- It's probably wise not to take photos of
army camps in Bangladesh.
