Day 01 - LONDON / NEWCASTLE
/ BERGEN :- Overnight Ferry to Bergen :- Morning departure from London
to Newcastle for the overnight cruise on the Fjordline Ferry to Bergen. Take
advantage of the on board facilities which include restaurants, bars,
cinema, entertainment programme and a casino. Accommodation will be in
shared 4 berth outside cabins with private facilities.
Day 02 - CRUISING :- Afternoon Bergen :- A morning to enjoy
daylight cruising. Arrive in Bergen in the afternoon with plenty of time to
enjoy your first evening in Norway.
Day 03 - BERGEN / VOSS / SOGNEFJORD / FAGERNES :- Great scenery
today as you travel north by way of Voss. Todays highlight is a cruise
on the Sognefjord. Continue by way of lakes, rugged gorges and towering
mountains to Fagernes for Overnight.
Day 04 - FAGERNES - OSLO :- From Fagerness travel south by
way of Honefoss to Oslo. The sight of the Akershus Castle, the 14th Century
fortress guarding the harbour, will be the highlight of the included
afternoon tour which also features the soaring City Hall, National Theatre,
Parliament, Royal Palace, Broadcasting House and stark sculptures in Frogner
Park created by Gustav Vigeland.
Day 05 - OSLO / STOCKHOLM :- Cross the border into Sweden at
Orje into the unspoiled Varmlands wilderness of forest and lakes. Stop
in Karlstad on huge Lake Vanern. Next to Karlskoga where armaments were
first manufactured by the founder of the Nobel Prize. After lakeside Orebro
drive through Eskilstuna, Swedens steel center. More Lakeland scenery
before arriving in Stockholm for Overnight.
Day 06 - STOCKHOLM :- Perhaps the most beautiful of the
Scandinavian capitals because of its unique position and the crystalline
waters which flow through the citys intersecting canals, giving a
luminous appearance to places, castles and parks. Included sightseeing takes
in the City Hall and other interesting landmarks.
Day 07 - STOCKHOLM / COPENHAGEN :- Drive southward through
Norrkoping, then along the shores of Lake Vattern to Jonkoping. This
afternoon travel through the forestlands of Smaland and the rolling
farmlands of Skane right down to Halsingborg. Take the ferry to Hamlet'
Helsingor and drive along the Danish Riviera to Copenhagen.
Day 08 - COPENHAGEN :- Day at leisure in Hans Christian
Andersens friendly city. Sightseeing includes the Little Mermaid
sitting on her rock by the Langeline Promenade and Amalienborgs
Rococco palace. An optional tour of Zealands Castles is also
available.
Day 09 - COPENHAGEN / HAMBURG :- Travel southwards today for a
short ferry crossing to Puttgarden for an early afternoon arrival in
Hamburg. Take advantage of the optional city sightseeing excursion to get
acquainted with Germanys greatest port city.
Day 10 - HAMBURG / BREMEN / AMSTERDAM :- Start the day with a
stop in the Hanseatic port of Bremen. Continue your journey westwards into
Dutch Friesland to Groningen, an old market town. Enjoy some more farming
landscape before reaching Amsterdam for Overnight.
Day 11 - AMSTERDAM :- This morning watch the cutting and
polishing of precious stones at a diamond center and get the feel
of the city on the orientation. You will have plenty of time to do some
shopping or your own exploring or you may like to join one of the optional
excursions. Optional sightseeing includes a visit to the Van Gogh museum
with the worlds finest collection of his paintings and a canal cruise
to see the town at water level or a visit to the world famous Floriade show.
Day 12 - AMSTERDAM / LONDON :- This morning board your Channel
ferry for the crossing to the U.K. Return to London for an evening arrival.
