Nothing can be more exciting and thrilling than skiing on the lovely snowy slopes
of Garhwal, Himachal or Kashmir. Auli in the Garhwal Himalayas is a major skiing
resort overlooking the towering Himalayan peaks of Nanda Devi, Mana Parbat,
Kamet etc. and is outlined by wild lush green forests.
Manali and Solang in Himachal offer natural and beautiful slopes and so
does Narkanda, a short drive from Shimla. Heli-skiing is now operational in
Solang valley and offers equipment and facilities of international standard.
Skiing can be effectively combined with a short trek, a mountain retreat or
a jeep safari.
Duration : 3 to 15 Days
Best Time : Mid December to March
With theie origin in the mighty Himalayas, snow fed rivers descend from icy
heights, turbulent and foaming, cutting through deep gorges and canyons, as
they gush towards the great indo-Gangetic plains. As they crash against huge
boulders and fall churning and swirling, breaking into white water rapids, the
awesome might of the river in these parts and their apparent navigational invincibility
has attracted the adventurer to the challenging sport of river running. Leading
river running experts have opined that Indian rivers have the potential of having
some of the most exciting stretches of river running in the world.
The most popular waters for river
running in India are the Ganga (grade II-IV), the Bhagirathi, (Grade
III-IV), the Alaknanda (III-IV), the Beas (III_IV).
River running expeditions by scandinavia are organised and managed by
professionals who have trained abroad in some of the most difficult water
stretches of the world and have won prestigious international awards. We use
Avon rafts which are reputed to be the best in the trade. Scandinavia
adventures is committed to providing the safest trip possible.
